  • BrainSpotting

BrainSpotting Practitioner.  BrainSpotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. BrainSpotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with Biolateral sound, which is deep, direct, and powerful yet focused and containing.

How does Brainspotting help trauma?

In brainspotting therapy, the initial phase involves the therapist identifying the client's "brainspots" by tracking their eye movement for reflective responses. This unique method aims to transition the client from a state of dysregulation—characterised by emotional distress, pain, and anxiety—towards regulation, in which these symptoms are relieved. Since most processing occurs in deeper parts of the brain, this therapy often involves less speaking compared to traditional therapy. It's a common outcome for clients to not only experience symptom relief, but also gain profound insights and feel a heightened sense of wholeness and well-being following brainspotting therapy.

Betrayal Trauma and Brainspotting

Frequently, betrayal trauma occurs, and it's only after the dust settles that the individual betrayed can discern years of emotional and psychological injury. Besides psychological upheaval, high betrayal traumas foresee memory aberrations related to the traumatic event as well as attention deficits. Such intense betrayal traumas have also been associated with poor health and numerous physical health complications compared to other types of traumas. The technique of Brainspotting can play a pivotal role in reestablishing symptom relief and facilitating the relief process from the brain's post-betrayal disregulation.
